Field Trip {Tuesday March 10, 2009}
Eliana and I were playing with playdoh and having a nice conversation. I said to her that tomorrow she has school. Eliana went on to remind me that they are going on a field trip to the museum tomorrow. I asked if she wanted me to come along and she said no. Then I asked if Daddy could come. Eliana said no because he'll ruin it. Daddy asked if he could come and she said if you are quiet so you don't ruin it. Brett and I were both laughing after she said this.

Snow Cave {Thursday January 29, 2009}
Eliana went to David's house to visit and play in the snow. It appears they made a snow cave. First she was playing in it then wanted out. I can tell Eliana is having a ball as she is red from not wanting to go inside. Although it is hard to see as I turned the photos black and white. David sent me these photos of her playing.

Trip to McDonald's {Thursday January 22, 2009}
Tonight we went to McDonald's for dinner. Brett, Eliana and I were eating. Brett was reading the sign from Rally's 2 stores down. And Eliana said to Brett "Daddy you need to concentrate". I looked at Brett and he looked at me and we both just laughed. I hope to get a chance to finish editing her Valentine's photos tomorrow and post them. If I don't get to them I will post them on Monday for sure.

Eliana at the Hospital {Monday January 19, 2009}
Here are the photos of Eliana at the hospital. I turned them into B&W due to the awful color you get from the lights in the hospital. A few before surgery and a couple after surgery. They took her back to the OR at 8:25am. Surgery started at 8:50am and was completed at 9:40am. She was fighting mad when she woke up. She could not open her eyes and the bright light made it worse. Her nurse Rachel had to turn the lights off in her room.
Eliana watching Power Puff Girls

Eliana 5 minutes after getting verset. She was still watching Power Puff Girls.

Eliana fast asleep about 15 minutes after verset.

Eliana fast asleep after her fighting mad session, some gatorade & ice cream.

I'm so glad they had her IV wrapped. She did try to yank it out but did not succeed.
Eliana was such a little trooper this morning. She got some verset (not sure of spelling) it makes you kinda loopy. Eliana fell asleep after taking it as she was so tired. Which was good as she did not know when she was wheeled into OR. Upon arriving back at her room she was crying and upset. She kept saying her arm hurt and her eyes hurt. Then she tried to pull the IV out of her hand. But it was all boarded and taped so their was no chance of that. It took what seems like forever for her to calm down. She cried and yelled. And Eliana kept saying "it didn't work" and "I can't see". Yesterday I told her Dr E was going to fix her eye and we talked about the hospital trip. She would not open her eyes therefore kept saying "I can't see". I was laughing inside as she was awake but not fully aware of what was going on. Of course her comment of "it didn't work" was because she thought she couldn't open her eyes.
She had some liquids and ice cream. We left the hospital at 12pm and got home at 12:30. Brett promised her somce ice cream before she went into surgery. So we stopped at McDonald's and Eliana wanted a parfait. We got home she ate the entire parfait drank a few sips of chocolate milk shake. Gave her some meds and now we are sitting in a recliner. Well, I'm sitting and she is snoring & asleep in my lap. The fun thing is to keep her out of too much light. And not let her rub her eyes or get water in them for a week. Despite having the surgery she is doing well. She did say her eyes hurt and her tummy. Although all the ice cream/parfait I can see why her tummy hurts. I'm glad she is taking a nap. This will help in the long run.

Tuesday January 20, 2009
Eliana was in the kitchen while Brett was making pancakes for himself for dinner. She was sitting on the countertop watching the pancakes being made. He told Eliana he likes maple syrup on his pancakes. Eliana replied back "that's not maple, maple is leaves". Brett asked her how she knew that and she replied "I saw it on tv".

Sunday January 18, 2009
Eliana and I were talking last night. And almost everyday she asks if she has school or not. Then I answer according to which day it is. She asked when she is going to school again. I said Wednesday because Monday Dr E's going to fix your eye. I said you like going to school. Eliana then replied No she didn't want to go to school. I asked her why and she said "everyone laughs at me". I said who laughs at you and again she repeated "everyone laughs at me". Not sure where that is stemming from. Prior to this part of the conversation she did say something funny. She asked me to find her Valentine cookie before she freaks out. I couldn't help but laugh at this one. Now remember she is ONLY 4 going on 16.
Welcome to Eliana's Blog
Welcome to Eliana's Blog!!! Thought I would start a blog for Eliana. I hope to write in it everyday and will enclude some photos. I have to edit some photos from this week then I will post them. I felt it would be neat to document some of the things that Eliana says that either make me laugh or amaze me.
